Together, we are united in our mission to empower individuals and strengthen communities across New Jersey. Through arts-based programs, we promote health and wellness, offering inclusive solutions to combat isolation, mental health challenges, and substance misuse. With a collective passion for healing and transformation, our team is dedicated to fostering vibrant, healthy communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Vicky Mulligan is the founder of Life Center Stage, a social artist, counselor, and mental health advocate dedicated to creativity and community transformation. With over 23 years of experience, she collaborates with leaders and professionals to integrate creative expression into therapeutic and corporate spaces. Vicky offers private sessions, workshops, and events.
Lorraine Ferro is a singer, songwriter, & performer who has shared the stage with artists like Lady Gaga & The Marvelettes. A former contestant on The Voice, she’s won several awards.. As a Capitol CMG writer, her songs have been performed by Lesley Gore & Jessica Simpson. Lorraine teaches voice, songwriting, & performance, & serves as the Artistic Director at LCS
Meet Our Board
Laura Lany is a strategic leader dedicated to sustainable solutions for social issues. She has worked with the U.S. Department of Labor & the Ford Foundation, & led Applied Concepts for 25 years. Most recently, she served as President & CEO of The Rippel Foundation, advancing equitable health systems. Laura has taught at NYU, Columbia, & Carnegie Mellon & authored Something Ventured, Something Gained. She is a Trustee of LCS & serves on several nonprofit boards.
Laurie Becker recently retired as the Director of the Division of Community & Behavioral Health Services at the Morris County Dept of Human Services. With over 15 years of experience, she advocated for mental health, managed over $12 million in public funding, & collaborated with various stakeholders. Laurie founded the Morris Stigma-Free Communities initiative & led crisis response teams. She holds a BA in Sociology from the UNH & has received multiple awards for her work.
Robert Corman coaches leaders to align their calling with work and life. A former lawyer & founder of several nonprofits, he has helped establish numerous organizations, including A Growing Culture. A poet and spiritual student, Robert apprenticed with a shaman for 12 years & edited Journeys and Awakenings: Wisdom for Spiritual Travelers. He is experienced in leading workshops and dialogue in challenging settings.
Meet Our Community Liaisons
Michael Cavallo is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, won the 2018 Knock Out Opioid Abuse Songwriting Contest & is a LCS Community Liason. Using his artistry to inspire change, he performs his winning song and shares his story at community recovery events, schools, and outreach programs. With firsthand experience of addiction and the power of recovery, Michael is dedicated to preventing others from succumbing to this deadly disease.
Anna Toby Rabinowitz is a mental health advocate, singer-songwriter, & LCS Community Liaison with over 7 years of experience in the mental health & addiction services field. A proud member of the recovery community, Anna has a background in psychology & the creative arts. She consulted on The Crowded Room (Apple TV+) & currently works as a substance abuse prevention specialist at the Manhattan Clinton School.
Meet Our Teaching Artists
Lara Gonzalez has been a performing, teaching, & recording artist for 25 years, sharing her passion for music and dance with all ages. She has studied extensively in Guinea, West Africa, and Cuba, training with master artists and her longtime mentor, Sanga-Of-The-Valley. Lara is the Founder and Artistic Director of Marafanyi Drum, Dance & Song.
Daniel McBride (aka 13 HANDS/DALIEN) is a LCS Teaching Artist, Grammy-nominated musician, and Professor of Yoga at Montclair State University. With 30 years of experience in sound therapy, stress management, & holistic health. He has performed and presented alongside renowned figures, including Deepak Chopra & the Dalai Lama.
Vicki Genfan is an award-winning guitarist, singer-songwriter, and sound healing practitioner. She has released eight albums, won Guitar Player magazine’s Guitar Superstar award, and taught extensively in music and healing arts. A certified BioSonic Repatterning practitioner, Vicki integrates music and sound healing in her teaching and performances.
